The Highway Guardrail Two-Wave (W-Beam) Cold Roll Forming Machine is designed for fully automatic, high-volume production of W-beam or two-wave guardrails. These guardrails are essential for collision protection, isolation, and other safety features on highways. This machine is well-suited for use on expressways, main roads, provincial and county roads, scenic rural routes, and large parking areas.

When it comes to guardrail design, we can provide various drawing profiles depending on the type of guardrail you need—be it W-beam or even three-wave profiles. Each machine is built with versatility in mind, so you can produce different guardrail shapes and sizes to meet regional or project requirements.

In terms of machine types, we offer several options. For The Road Highway Guardrail Machine:

Machines for two-wave guardrails

Machines for three-wave guardrails

Machines that can handle both two- and three-wave guardrails

These machines can be configured with either a pre-shearing or post-shearing process. The choice between them depends on your production priorities. Pre-shearing is generally faster, but it might result in a small size deviation at the start and end of each piece. Post-shearing, on the other hand, offers higher precision.

The Road Highway Guardrail Machine, capable of producing either two-beam (W-beam) or three-beam (thrie-beam) guardrails, is a high-tech roll forming system built for efficient and reliable highway safety barrier production. It’s designed to meet the needs of various infrastructure projects by offering both versatility and strong performance.

Key Features and Specs of The Road Highway Guardrail Machine:

  1. This machine can switch between making W-beam and thrie-beam guardrails, both of which comply with the popular M180 safety standards used across highways.
  2. It’s built tough, featuring a heavy-duty hydraulic press (either 200 or 315 tons) that handles punching and cutting with precision.
  1. Powered by two 22KW motors with step-less speed control, it delivers smooth, adjustable forming speeds to match production demands.
  2. The system is automated with a PLC controller, making operation easier and boosting productivity.
  3. It runs fast, forming guardrail panels about 15 to 20 meters per minute, which translates to roughly 2 to 2.5 panels of 4.32 meters each every minute.
  4. The machine works with steel thicknesses from 2.5mm up to 4mm, accommodating a range of guardrail specifications.

One big advantage is that with a dual-type machine, there’s no need to change the cutting blade when switching between profiles, saving time and hassle. For the transmission system, you can choose between a gearbox drive or a chain drive—each has its own strengths depending on the production speed and budget.

Here’s a quick look at the standard production flow for our guardrail forming machine:

First, the steel coil is uncoiled and guided through an alignment roller, then flattened using a 9-roller leveling system. After that, it goes through a hydraulic punching unit for precise hole placement. The sheet then moves to a transfer table, passes through a photoelectric switch, and is fed into the main roll forming line with around 15 forming stations. The final product is supported on a finished product table.

A few highlights of the machine:

  • You can choose between manual and hydraulic decoilers, depending on your needs.
  • We use high-grade materials like GCr15 and SKD11 for the rollers, ensuring durability and consistent quality.
  • The machine frame is a robust welded structure, built to last.
  • Punching is done before the roll forming process, controlled by a PLC for precision.
  • The base frame is made of solid steel to ensure stability and long-term use.
  • Both pre-shearing and post-shearing setups are available, giving you flexibility in production.

We’ve also included videos showcasing the machine in action, so you can see the quality and performance firsthand.
